Maa Laxmi Bhander

Maa Laxmi Bhander is located in the Purbapara neighborhood of Beldubi village. We are under the Panchla police station, which is the main area nearby. The shop is just a part of our daily life here in the village. It’s a small place, packed with containers and bags of things that people need for their kitchens. We don't have big bright signs or glass windows, just a counter and shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. Most mornings start early, getting things ready before the sun gets too high. People from all over Beldubi come by for their daily supplies. We know what most people want before they even ask, because we’ve been here for so long. It gets a bit cramped in the shop sometimes, especially when a new delivery arrives and there are boxes everywhere in the middle of the floor. We aren't a big supermarket, just a local bhander run by people who live right here in Purbapara. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next truck from the city, but the neighbors are patient. It’s a simple business. We spend our days chatting with customers and keeping the books by hand. There isn't anything corporate about it, just a local shop in a quiet village doing its best to stay open every day.
