Laxmi Bhandar

Laxmi Bhandar is our shop located on Rabindra Sarani in Kestobazar. We are part of the Liluah police station area in the Howrah district. Our shop is one of those places that has a bit of everything for the local community. We have been on this street for quite a while now. It’s a narrow road and it gets very busy, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. The shop is often filled with people looking for daily items. We don't have a lot of space, so the shelves are packed high with all kinds of goods. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when three or four people are inside at once. We know our customers by name usually, as they live just a few blocks away. Howrah is a place that never really stays quiet, and Rabindra Sarani is no exception to that rule. We deal with the daily challenges of keeping stock and making sure we have what people are asking for. There’s no big management team here. It is just us behind the counter. We open up the shutters early in the morning and close late at night. It is a tiring job sometimes, standing on your feet all day, but it is what we do to keep things going. We don't use any modern marketing tricks. We just stay open and serve whoever walks in through the door.
