Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Ecc Division)

Our branch of the ECC Division for Larsen & Toubro Ltd. is located in Siddheswar, which is in the Howrah district of West Bengal. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't used to the local roads. The office is situated in a village setting, so it’s surrounded by a lot of greenery and open space. It’s a simple building that we use to manage the construction work happening in this part of the state. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and a lot of maps pinned to the walls. We don’t have any high-tech gadgets or fancy meeting rooms. Most of the work involves talking to the laborers and checking on the progress of the local infrastructure projects. It’s a hands-on kind of environment. We spend a lot of time out of our chairs, actually looking at what’s being built. The weather can be quite tough, especially during the monsoon season when everything gets muddy. We just wear our boots and get on with it. There’s a small group of us here, and we all pitch in with whatever needs doing, whether it’s filing or fixing a piece of equipment. We don’t talk much about "excellence" or "quality." We just make sure the walls are straight and the materials are right. It’s a quiet life here, focused on the job at hand without any unnecessary distractions or corporate speeches.
