Koley Variety Store

Koley Variety Store is located on P.K.Banerjee Road in Howrah. Being near Mallick Fatak, we get a lot of people passing by all day. It’s a variety store, so we carry a bit of everything, not just food. You can find notebooks, pens, small plastic items, and the usual snacks. I try to keep the shop organized, but with so many small items, it’s a constant battle. The building is an old one, typical for this part of 711101. I’ve been running this place for a long time now. Some of the customers have been coming since they were children. It’s nice to see them grow up and start bringing their own kids. We don't have fancy lights or big signs. Just the stuff people need for their homes. Morning times are usually the busiest when everyone is rushing to work or school. I sit on my stool near the entrance and help whoever walks in. Sometimes the rains make the street messy, but people still come in for their daily bits and pieces. Dealing with different suppliers takes up a lot of my afternoon. It’s not an easy job, but it keeps me busy. We are just a local shop trying to provide what’s necessary for the neighborhood. I spend most of my time right here in the store making sure everything is ready for the customers.
