Klr- Industries Limited is located down in Howrah at 132/9 Satghara Lane. To get here you have to navigate through the Buxarah area, which is always a bit chaotic with all the traffic. Our place in West Bengal has been around for a long time and the building shows its age. It’s got that old brick feel and the humidity really does a number on the paint every year. We do industrial work, mostly handling materials and getting them ready for shipping. The lane is narrow, so when the big trucks come in, everything else has to stop. We have a small group of guys who have worked here for decades. They know the machines better than they know their own kids. It’s loud inside the shed, and we usually have to shout to be heard over the hum of the equipment. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address number on the wall. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up with the neighbors because the numbers are hard to read. We keep a stash of biscuits in the office for when we have our afternoon break. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but we produce what we need to and keep the wheels turning. The local tea stall guy knows us all by name and brings a tray over twice a day. That’s just the daily rhythm here in the backstreets of Howrah.
