Khanna Variety Stores is situated right on Station Road in Bagnan, Howrah. Being so close to the station means we see a lot of people passing by every single day. Most of our customers are people catching a train or coming home from work. They usually want something quick, like a pen, a notebook, or maybe some small item they forgot to buy elsewhere. We try to stock a wide range of goods because you never know what someone might ask for. The shelves are packed with all sorts of plastic items, gifts, and daily necessities. It can get pretty loud and crowded out there on Station Road, especially during the morning and evening rush hours. We don’t really have a set routine other than opening up and waiting for the first train crowds to arrive. Sometimes the shop feels too small for everything we want to sell, but we make it work. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different faces behind the counter depending on the time of day. We don’t do any advertising; the location near the station does most of that work for us. It is a simple life of selling small things to the people of Howrah. We've been here for a while and plan to stay for as long as people need a variety store near the railway tracks.
