Our branch is over at 39, M.C. Ghosh Lane in Howrah. If you’ve ever been to this part of Howrah, you know the lanes are narrow and can get very crowded with rickshaws and carts. It’s a very traditional area, and our office fits right in. We’ve been at this address for a long time, handling transport for all kinds of items. The office is filled with the smell of old paper and the sound of the busy street outside. We have wooden desks and heavy chairs that have been here for years. We spend the day talking to people who need things moved to different parts of the country. It’s a lot of manual record-keeping alongside the computer work. Howrah is a tough place for big trucks, but our drivers are used to it. We often have to wait for the right time of day to move the larger loads. There is no corporate polish here. We are just a group of people doing a job that needs doing. We know the neighbors and the local tea sellers. When the rain comes, the lane can get a bit flooded, so we have to be careful. It’s not always easy, but we’ve been doing it for so long that it’s just second nature now. We don't make any big claims; we just manage the transport and keep the goods moving through the bustle of Howrah.
