Kamala Prasadhani & Shoe is over in Joynagar, Howrah. We are on Joynagar Road, and the zip code is 711302. It’s a bit of a mix here because we sell both toiletries and shoes. It might seem like a strange combination to some, but it works for the people living around here. One side of the shop has sandals and school shoes, and the other side has creams and hair oils. I spend my day dusting the shoe boxes and arranging the bottles on the glass shelves. The shop is on a corner, so we get a good breeze when the weather is right. Howrah is always busy and Joynagar Road is no different. You can hear the rickshaws and the buses all day. I usually have a cup of tea in the afternoon while waiting for the evening rush. That’s when most people come in after finishing their work at the factories or offices. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but it’s enough to see what you’re looking for. I don't use any big marketing tricks. I just show people the shoes and tell them if they’ll last. Some of the stock has been on the shelf for a little while, but everything is in good condition. It’s just me running the show most of the time. It’s a simple business for a simple neighborhood.
