M. Dhara & Brothers

M. Dhara & Brothers has been operating out of No. 14/1 Kali Prasad Banerjee 1st Bye Lane for a long time. It’s a small place, really, tucked away in the lane where it gets a bit tight for the bigger trucks to come through. We spend most of our mornings just moving things around to make space for the new stock that comes in every couple of days. The name on the sign has been there for years, and most of the people who stop by are locals who know the family. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a counter, some old chairs, and rows of shelves filled with whatever we are stocking that month. Sometimes the fans don't work right and it gets quite hot in here during the afternoons. We usually just keep the doors open and talk to the neighbors while waiting for the next person to walk in. There’s always a bit of dust because of the work going on nearby, but we try to keep the desk clean enough for the paperwork. The brothers are usually here, though someone is always out running an errand or checking on a delivery. It isn't the fastest paced place in the world, but we get the job done. People know where to find us if they need something specific. It’s just how we’ve always done things here on the 1st Bye Lane.
