Howrah Art

Howrah Art is a small shop located at 23/1/4, Kali Kundu Lane. We are right by the petrol pump, so there is always a lot of noise and the smell of fuel around. Our shop is where we do all sorts of local painting and sign making. We have been in this spot for years, and you can see all the different paint colors splashed on our floor. We mostly make boards for shops or paint numbers on houses. It is all done by hand with brushes and tins of paint. We do not use those big digital machines for everything because people around here still like the look of hand-painted signs. It takes a bit more time and our hands are usually stained with ink or oil paint at the end of the day. The lane is quite narrow, so we often have to work inside the small shop and then carry the finished signs out to the customers. Sometimes we get asked to do some decorative painting for a local club or a festival gate. It is me and my brother working together most of the time. We do not have a website or any fancy business cards. People just see our work on the street and find out where we are located. We just try to make the letters neat and the colors bright so the signs are easy to read from a distance.
