You can find Shwetank International over on Madhab Babu Lane in Ghusuri. Our building is at number 79, tucked into a spot that gets pretty crowded with trucks and trolleys during the day. It’s one of those old parts of the neighborhood where the lanes are narrow and you have to be careful how you park. Inside, we have our storage and a small office space where we handle all the documents. Since the name is Shwetank International, people expect a huge office, but it’s actually quite modest and functional. We spend a lot of time checking crates and making sure everything is labeled correctly before it goes out. The air in Ghusuri is always thick with the sound of the nearby workshops and the river not too far off. We’ve been operating from this lane for a good while now, so the neighbors all know us. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with suppliers and shipping agents, which can get stressful when things are delayed. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the daily legwork, making sure the inventory moves and the bills get paid. Sometimes we sit out on the steps during a break just to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s a plain, straightforward business and we don’t try to make it seem like more than it is, just working out of our Ghusuri location.
