Ghosh Store

Ghosh Store is located in the village of Kanaidanga. It is a small place under the Panchla police station. We are quite far from the main city noise, which is how we like it. The post office is in Kuldanga, so we have to go there for any mail or official work. Our store is just a simple building that we have had for years. People from the village walk over to get their things and we spend a lot of time talking about the crops or the local news. It’s a very slow pace of life here in this part of the district. We don’t have fancy displays or bright lights. Most of the time, the air is quiet except for the birds or some tractor passing by on the dirt road. We keep the doors open from morning until the sun goes down. Sometimes if it rains hard, the road gets a bit muddy and fewer people come by. We use that time to organize the stock or just sit and have some tea. It is not the kind of business that makes you rich, but it keeps us busy and connected to the people around us. Kanaidanga is our home, and running the store is just what we do every day. We don't try to be anything more than a local village shop where people feel comfortable stopping by to pick up what they need for their homes.
