Dutta Tea House

This place has been a bit of a local hangout on Dhulagori Road for a while. We are situated right near Domjur Bazar in Howrah, so there is always someone walking past. It's a simple setup, really. We have a few benches where people can sit down and take a break from their day. Mostly, we serve tea, but we also keep some snacks like biscuits and some local savory items. It’s not a restaurant or anything fancy, just a small tea house. In the mornings, it’s mostly workers getting their first cup before heading into the market. Later on, you get the older men sitting around talking about politics or the weather. The kettle is always on the stove. Sometimes it gets a bit smoky inside when we are frying up some snacks, but nobody seems to mind much. We don't use fancy machines, just a regular stove and a strainer. My hands are usually stained with tea leaves by the end of the day. We know how most of our regulars like their tea—some want extra sugar, some want it strong. It’s a quiet life here in Domjur, even with the market nearby. We just keep the tea hot and the conversations going. If you're looking for a place to rest your legs for ten minutes, we're here. We don't have a menu, you just ask for what you want.
