Dutta Store

Dutta Store is found in the Baganda area of Shyampur, right on Mathapara Road in Howrah. The pin code is 711315. We have been here in this spot for quite some time. It is a small local shop that sells groceries and other household necessities. We carry things like sugar, salt, tea, and biscuits. The shop is part of our home, so we are always around if someone knocks on the door. Mathapara Road is usually quiet, but it can get busy when the local market is on. We know almost everyone in the village. It’s a very small community. We don't have any fancy equipment or a computerized billing system. Everything is done manually. My father started this shop many years ago, and I have just continued running it the same way. The building is made of brick and has a simple tin roof. During the rainy season, the sound of the rain on the roof is very loud. We sometimes have trouble getting new stock if the roads get flooded, but we manage somehow. We aren't looking to become a big chain or anything. We are just happy to serve the people of Baganda. We try to keep our prices fair for everyone. Most of our day is spent sitting on the bench outside the store, waiting for people to come by. It’s a simple, honest life here in Howrah.
