Deb Nath Tea Stall

At Shop No- 169 Chaupar, things get moving pretty early in the day. This is where Deb Nath Tea Stall is located, right in the Bhattanagar area. We are quite close to the Pali Samaj High School, so we hear the bell ringing throughout the morning and afternoon. The stall is not very large, but it is enough for what we do. We spend a lot of time boiling water and getting the tea ready for the people who pass by. Chaupar is a busy little spot in Howrah, especially near the school when classes are starting or letting out. We see the students and the teachers walking past our door all the time. Sometimes the wind blows through the shop and brings in some dust from the road, but that is just how it is here. People stop for a quick drink while they are on their way to the market or heading home from work. We do not have fancy chairs or anything like that. It feels right to be near the high school. We just keep our kettle hot and the glasses clean, waiting for the next person to walk in from the street.
