Das Pan Shop

Das Pan Shop is a small place located in New Market, right in the Forgloster area of Howrah. We are on the Bauria Station Road, which stays pretty busy because of the trains and the commuters. It’s just a little stall really, but we have been here a long time. Most people stop by for their daily pan, but we also keep cigarettes, some candies, and cold drinks in a small cooler. The 711310 area has a lot of workers and people traveling, so there is always someone standing around our counter. It’s a good spot to hear the local gossip and news. We don't have much space, just enough for me to sit and a few shelves for the jars of supari and tobacco. The wooden counter is stained from years of use, but it’s sturdy enough. We open up early and don't close until the last train has basically gone. It’s a lot of hours, but we like the company. People in Howrah are friendly enough if you treat them right. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything like that. We just want to keep making good pan and serving the people who pass by Bauria Station Road every day. It’s a simple living for us. If you are ever heading to the station and need a quick refreshment or a sweet pan, you’ll see us there right by the market entrance.
