Our place is out in Dhulagarh, right near the Food Park area. Being Crystal Logistic Cool Chain Ltd means we spend a lot of time around big trucks and heavy machinery. It is a busy spot because of all the food processing going on nearby. We have these large cold storage areas and the noise from the cooling units is something you just get used to after a few days. It is always cold inside even when the sun is beating down outside on the pavement. We spend a lot of time checking temperatures and making sure the doors are shut tight. If a truck arrives late, we have to stay and get it unloaded because the stuff inside can't just sit out in the heat. It gets a bit chaotic when three or four lorries show up at the same time. The yard is usually full of crates and pallets being moved around by the guys. We don't have a fancy office or anything, just a desk with some papers and a phone that rings more than it should. Sometimes the internet is slow out here which makes the paperwork take longer than it should. We just focus on getting the products in and out without them spoiling. It is hard work and the hours can be long, but that is the nature of logistics in a place like Dhulagarh. We have a small canteen where we drink tea and talk about the day's schedule. It is not glamorous but it keeps the food moving.
