Chadni Variety Stores

If you go down O.T. Road in the Bagnan area of Howrah, you will find Chadni Variety Stores. We sell a bit of everything here, which is why we call it a variety store. It could be stationery for the school kids one minute and then some household items for a homemaker the next. The shop is usually a bit messy because we try to fit so many different things into a small space. We have toys, some small electronics, and basic kitchen stuff too. It’s a busy part of Howrah, so there is always someone coming in to ask for something specific. Sometimes we have it, and sometimes we have to tell them to come back next week. We don't have any fancy signs or a big website. Most people just see the shop while they are walking or driving by on the road. It gets quite dusty with all the traffic outside, so cleaning the glass cases is a never-ending job. We try to keep prices fair so the local people keep coming back to us. It is just me and a couple of others helping out. We've seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own homes now. It’s just a regular local business trying to make a living and providing what the people in Bagnan need for their daily lives.
