Bose Water Works

Mahendra Bagchi Road in Bally is a place where life feels a bit more traditional and moves a little slower than the city center. Bose Water Works is situated at No. 17/2. It is an old neighborhood with very narrow streets and a lot of brick buildings. Our office is tucked away and people often miss the entrance if they are not looking specifically for us. We handle everything related to local water systems and pumps. Because of the nature of the work, the office always has a faint smell of dampness and iron. We have blueprints and technical diagrams rolled up in almost every corner of the room. The desks are old and the drawers tend to stick when the weather gets humid. We have a small courtyard in the back where we keep some of the heavier valves and metal fittings. The neighborhood kids often play in the lane right outside our front door. We have been here for such a long time that everyone in Bally knows where to find us when their water system fails. We spend a lot of our time out on service calls so the office is often empty except for one person left behind to answer the telephone. It is a very practical business. We do not have a fancy reception area or any carpets. We just have some plastic chairs for people to sit in while they wait.
