Our place is at 24/1 Danesh Sekh Lane, over in Block-K of Howrah. It’s actually Flat-14, so it’s more of a converted residential space than a big glass office building. This gives the whole operation a very neighborhood feel. We’re right there with the local houses and shops. Most of us live nearby, so we don't have far to travel. We deal with a lot of local deliveries and some that go further out. The lane is narrow, so getting the bigger vehicles in can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, computers, and stacks of delivery slips. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you’ll probably just see someone busy on a laptop or sorting through a pile of envelopes. It gets a bit chaotic during the monsoon because the rain in West Bengal doesn't mess around, but we try to keep everything dry and moving. We know most of the people who live on Danesh Sekh Lane by name. It’s a practical setup for us. We don't spend money on fancy signs or expensive furniture. We’d rather just focus on making sure the parcels don't sit around for too long. It’s a simple life here, just working through the list of pickups and drops every day until the sun goes down and we can head home to our families.
