Bengal Super Market

You can find us at Shop No. 50 on Nandi Bagan Lane. We are right in the Pilkhana area of Salkia, very close to the bus stand. Despite the name "Super Market," we are a local shop that tries to keep all the essentials in one place. The aisles are a bit narrow because we try to fit as much as possible onto the shelves. We sell everything from soap and lentils to biscuits and cleaning supplies. It gets really busy in the evenings when people are getting off the bus and heading home. I’ve been running this shop with my brother for years. We know which brands the neighbors like and what they don't care for. The lighting isn't the brightest, and sometimes the floor needs a good sweep after a rainy day, but we keep it going. We don't have those fancy scanners or loyalty cards. We just write things down or use the old calculator. It’s a noisy neighborhood with the buses and the traffic, but we are used to it by now. People come in for a quick bag of sugar or a bottle of oil and usually stay for a minute to talk about the weather. It’s just a regular part of the Salkia community. We might not have the fancy stuff the big stores have, but we have what you need for dinner tonight.
