You can find us in the Bankra Super Market, at shop B 27. It’s a small space, but we pack it full of fabric rolls. Every morning we have to move some of the stock out just so we have room to stand. The market is always crowded, so there’s a lot of noise and people pushing past. We spend the day measuring out meters of cloth and cutting them for customers. Our hands are usually covered in loose threads by lunchtime. We don't have any big displays. People just come in and look through the stacks until they find what they want. It’s a bit disorganized, but we know where everything is. My wife helps me on the busy days, especially during the festival seasons. We have a small stool for people to sit on if they’re tired, but most people are in a hurry. The lighting in the shop isn't great, so we often take the fabric out to the hallway to show the real color. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it’s worked for us for years. We aren't trying to be a big department store. We just sell cloth and talk to the people who come in. By the time we close the shutters at night, we’re pretty tired.
