Mi Textile is located right on the ground floor of the Super Market, specifically at Shop No. D-16 in Bankra. Being in a market means there’s never a dull moment; there’s always noise, people moving around, and the smell of various goods in the air. Our shop is packed with rolls of fabric and different kinds of textiles stacked up to the ceiling. It can be a bit hard to move around in there when we get a new shipment in, but we know where everything is. We spend our days measuring out cloth, cutting pieces for customers, and talking to the other shopkeepers nearby. It’s a tight-knit community here in Bankra. People come to us when they need material for clothes or home stuff, and we just show them what we’ve got on the shelves. There’s no air conditioning, just a couple of fans keeping the air moving as best they can. We don’t have any fancy displays, just the textiles themselves doing the talking. It’s dusty and busy, and some days are exhausting, but it’s what we do. We open up early and stay until the market starts to wind down in the evening. We also have to handle all the deliveries that come through the crowded aisles, which takes a lot of effort. It’s a very hands-on way to make a living, and we’re used to the pace of the ground floor life by now.
