Our office is sitting on the second floor of a building on Mohanlal Bhalwala Road in Howrah. It’s Flat Number 202, inside Block B/8. If you’re coming from the main part of Howrah, you might find the traffic a bit heavy, as it usually is around here. The building itself is pretty standard for the area, and we’ve made our space as comfortable as we can. We do administrative and consulting work, which involves a lot of reading and checking documents. It’s not the kind of place with shiny glass walls or modern art. We have some sturdy desks, a couple of filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a tea kettle that gets a lot of use. The second floor isn’t too high up, but the stairs can be a bit of a workout when the humidity is high in the summer. We’ve settled into the rhythm of the neighborhood over the years. You can hear the sounds of the street from the balcony, which is just part of the charm. We don’t really do big meetings or fancy presentations here. Most of our day is spent focusing on the tasks at hand and making sure the paperwork is in order. It’s a practical space for practical work. We like being in this part of West Bengal because it feels grounded and real. We just show up, do what needs to be done, and head home like everyone else.
