Art Plaza

We've been running Art Plaza here at 202/3 Mahendra Bhattacharya Road for quite some time now. It’s right there at the Natun Rasta More intersection, so we see a lot of traffic passing by all day. The shop is usually a bit of a mess with all the art supplies and frames we keep in stock. We try to keep it organized, but when we get busy, things just end up wherever there’s space. My cousin and I handle most of the daily work, from helping people find the right brushes to doing some framing in the back. It’s not a big corporate store, just a local spot for folks who need stuff for their projects. Sometimes the dust gets a bit thick on the top shelves, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to. We don't have any fancy mission statements or a big marketing plan. We just open the doors in the morning, sweep the front, and wait for the regulars to stop by. Most of our customers are students or people from the neighborhood who’ve been coming here for years. We like the chat as much as the work, really. It’s a steady life and we’re happy to be part of the street. If you come by and the door is locked, we’re probably just having tea around the corner.
