We are located down at 9 Kashi Mandal Lane in Uluberia. It’s a bit of a way out in Howrah, but it’s a good spot for what we do with textiles. The area is a bit quieter than the main city but still has plenty of daily activity. Our place is at LP-105/5. We spend our days dealing with various types of fabrics and textile products that come through here. It’s mostly about managing the stock and getting orders ready for the buyers who need them. The office and the storage area are pretty simple. We don’t have a big corporate setup with glass walls. It’s just a place where we work. There’s usually a lot of thread and fabric scraps around the floor because we’re always checking the goods. The workers here have been with us for a bit, and we all just get on with it. Uluberia has its own pace, which is a bit different from the center of Kolkata. We have to deal with the weather, especially when it gets very humid, as it can affect the cloth if we aren't careful. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on the day’s tasks. There’s always a lot of loading and unloading going on at the front gate. It’s hard work, and the days can be long, especially when a big order comes in. We’re used to the routine. We just try to make sure the textile quality is what it should be before anything leaves the lane.
