Anmol Gee Spices Co. is located over at 34, Abhay Guha Road. If you know the Liluah area, you know it's a bit crowded and the streets are narrow. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years. It’s an old building, nothing special to look at from the outside, but inside we stay pretty busy with the spices. The police station is close by, so things stay relatively quiet on our block compared to the main market. Every morning starts with the sound of shutters going up. We have a few guys who handle the heavy lifting, moving sacks of raw materials into the back rooms. It gets quite cramped when a new shipment comes in. You’ll see us out on the steps sometimes just catching a breath of air. The air inside is always thick with the smell of turmeric and chili, which makes everyone sneeze if they aren’t used to it. We don't have a big marketing team or a website that looks professional. It’s just us answering the phone and writing down orders on paper pads. Liluah is a working-class neighborhood, and we fit right in. We focus on getting the work done and making sure the packets are sealed tight before they go out. There’s always a tea stall nearby where we get our morning chai. It’s just a normal day-to-day business on Abhay Guha Road.
