Agarwal Confectioners

You can find us over on Girish Ghosh Road, right across from the Government Quarter. We’ve got two shop units here, numbers 12 and 13, so there is enough room for the sweets and snacks we keep. It’s a busy part of Howrah, especially in the evenings when people are heading home from work. We started Agarwal Confectioners because we like making the traditional stuff folks around here grew up eating. We aren't a big chain or anything like that. It’s just a local shop where we spend most of our waking hours. Some days the flour and sugar get everywhere on the floor, but that's just part of the job we do. We make sure the glass cases are filled every morning with fresh things. If you come by, you'll see us busy packing boxes or cleaning up the counters from the previous rush. We get a lot of regulars who stop in for a quick bite or to take something home for their families. The location is pretty easy to spot once you're near the government quarters. We don't go in for big advertisements or fancy posters. Usually, people just hear about us from their neighbors or see the sign while walking past our door. It stays fairly lively inside. We handle everything ourselves, from ordering supplies to talking with the people. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We’ve been here at 109/1/F for some time and hope to stay around for more.
