Academos

Academos is tucked away at 6/4, Dino Master Lane in Howrah. If you know the area, it's a typical local spot. We’ve been here for a while, providing a place for students to come and learn. It’s not a big institution with marble floors. It’s just a building where we teach. Most of the kids come from the surrounding streets around 711103. The lane can be a bit narrow, so finding us for the first time might take a minute, but once you're here, it’s a friendly atmosphere. We handle different subjects depending on who needs help. Some days it’s all about science, other days it’s languages. We don't follow a strict corporate script. We just talk to the students like people and try to get the lessons across. There are times when it’s quite noisy with everyone talking at once, but that’s just how it is when you’re learning. We have some old desks and a few whiteboards that have seen better days. It doesn't matter much as long as the teaching happens and the kids understand their work. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to help the local kids do better in their exams and understand their books. It's a simple setup, run by people who live right here in the same community as the students we teach every afternoon. We just focus on the lessons and making sure everyone feels comfortable while they study.
