Academia

We are tucked away at 37, Krishnatra Naskar Lane in Howrah. If you know where the Ghusuri Post Office is, then finding us is easy because we are right opposite that. It’s a typical Howrah neighborhood, a bit tight and busy, but it has its own rhythm. Academia isn’t a big school with a playground; it’s more of a dedicated space where we sit down and get to work. The lane can be a bit narrow, so parking is always a challenge, but most of our students just walk or take a rickshaw. Inside, it’s pretty basic. We have some wooden benches and plenty of whiteboards. The building has been here for years, and we’ve tried to keep it in good shape. It’s not polished or anything. You might see a few cracks in the plaster or some old posters from years ago. We think it gives the place some character. We spend our days preparing materials and talking to the kids who come in after their regular school hours. It’s a local place for local people. There is no corporate management here. It’s just us, the teachers, and the students trying to understand their subjects better. We like the fact that we are right across from the post office because it makes it easy to give directions. It’s a quiet, honest kind of place. We aren't doing anything special, just helping kids with their lessons in our own small way.
