We’ve been here at 701 on Court Road for a long time now. People in Johnsonpet know the smell of our coffee before they even see the sign. It’s a busy spot near the courts, so there is always noise outside and people rushing around with papers. Inside, we just focus on the beans. We have these old machines that have seen better days but they still get the job done right. Most of us here have been working together for years, so we don't really need to talk much to know what needs doing. We start early, usually while it’s still dark, to get everything ready for the day. The building is an old one, and it has that specific smell of roasted coffee that never really leaves the walls. Sometimes the traffic on Court Road gets backed up and people just stare in through the windows while they wait. We don't mind. We just keep bagging the coffee and making sure the orders are lined up. It’s not a fancy place with modern furniture or anything. We have some heavy desks and a lot of registers. It gets a bit dusty with all the coffee ground floating around, but that’s just how it is in this business. We don’t do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where to find us. We just try to keep things the same and make sure the bags are full when they go out the door.
