Mahes Provision Store

Down on Denkanikota Road, you can find us at number 54. We’re right there in Kariappanagar. It’s a provision store, so we stock the usual things a house needs. Pulses, oils, flours, and the odd bits and pieces like matches or candles. The road outside stays quite busy with people heading in and out of town. We get a lot of dust from the traffic, so we are always wiping down the counters. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We know when the school kids are going to come by for their small treats and when the housewives will show up for their weekly supplies. The shelves are mostly metal and they go all the way to the ceiling. We have a tall ladder for the items we don't sell as often. Mahes Provision Store isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but we take care of it. We don't have any fancy computer systems for tracking things; mostly just a notebook and a pen. It works for us. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it's quiet. Kariappanagar is a decent place to be. We’ve seen a lot of changes on Denkanikota Road over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We just keep the doors open and make sure the bins are full.
