Frontier Leathers

Our place is located in the Sipcot Industrial Complex Phase 2, specifically at 104/a. If you’ve ever been out this way, you know it’s a busy area with a lot of manufacturing going on. We work with leather, which is a tough job and makes the place smell pretty distinctive. It’s a messy process sometimes, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t really mind the scraps or the dust. The building is a standard industrial unit, nothing too pretty to look at from the outside. Inside, we have our tools and the benches where we cut and prep the skins. We stay busy keeping up with whatever needs doing. Dealing with leather means you have to be careful with your hands and eyes. The machines are old but they still run fine for what we need. We get a lot of trucks coming in and out of the complex, so it’s never really quiet around here. Most of the guys working here have been in the leather trade for a long time. They know how a good hide should feel. We don't spend much time on computers or fancy meetings. Usually, we just talk over the noise of the fans. It’s hard work, especially in the summer when the heat gets trapped in the workshop. We just keep the water cold and keep moving. We share a wall with a machine shop, so there's a constant rhythmic banging that goes on all afternoon. It’s just part of the background noise now. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down.
