Shiv Trading Co.

Shiv Trading Co. is on the ground floor of the Hosiyar Kasmiri Bazar. We are very close to the Shiv Mandir. Every morning we hear the temple bells while we are opening the shutters. It’s a nice way to start the day. The bazar is always crowded with people looking for deals. Our shop is right in the middle of it all. We have goods stacked up against the walls and sometimes even in the hallway if a big shipment arrives. It is a lot of work to keep everything organized. The floor is old tile and it’s seen a lot of foot traffic over the years. We don’t have any fancy marketing. We just talk to the people who come in. Most of them have been coming to this bazar for years. We know their families and they know ours. Sometimes we sit on plastic crates and drink chai while we discuss prices. The lighting isn’t the best, but we have a few bright bulbs over the main counter. When the festival season comes, the whole bazar turns into a madhouse. We stay open late then, just like everyone else around here. It’s tiring but it’s part of the life. We’ve been trading here for a long time and the Shiv Mandir is our constant neighbor. It’s just a regular local business doing what it does year after year in the market.
