Madaan Medical Store

Madaan Medical Store is situated right near Satluj Hospital and is also very close to the Ghatkopar Station over in Pantnagar. Because of where we are, it never really gets quiet around here, especially with the station being so close. We see a lot of people coming off the trains or walking over from the hospital at all hours of the day. The shop is small and filled from floor to ceiling with shelves that hold everything we need. We have to use a small ladder to reach the things kept near the top, which is a bit of a workout. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three customers come in at once, but we make it work somehow. Most of our day is spent reading handwritten notes and finding the right items for people who are often in a hurry to catch a train or are a bit stressed. We try to be quick but careful with every order. The fan overhead hums constantly to keep the air moving, but it still gets quite warm in the afternoons. Sometimes we recognize the regulars who live in the nearby apartments and stop for a quick word about the weather or the traffic. It’s a neighborhood spot, really. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need a map to know where every single box is kept. It’s just a regular shop run by regular people.
