Joshi Chat Bhandar

Down here in Katcha Toba, things are always moving. We are right by the Shesh Mahal Bazaar in Hoshiarpur, near the Pooja Upasra booking office. If you know that area, you know it gets loud and busy. Our chat shop is small, but we have been here a long time. People come for a quick snack while they are out shopping in the bazaar. We make everything right there in front of you. There are no secrets, just the usual spices and ingredients we get from the market. We start setting things up in the afternoon so everything is ready for the evening rush. It is mostly standing room, but people don't seem to mind. They just want their plate of chat and then they go on their way. The floors get a bit messy when it is crowded, but we try to sweep it up when there is a gap in the crowd. Sometimes the weather is too hot, but the stove stays on anyway. My father used to run things, and now I am here most days. We don't bother with menus or fancy signs. Most regulars just tell us what they want before they even sit down. It is a simple life, making food for the neighborhood. Hoshiarpur is a nice place to live and work. We just keep our heads down and keep the stall running as long as there are people hungry for chat. It gets especially crowded on holidays and weekends when the market is full.
