Out here on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Road, things stay pretty busy. We are located in Mehtiana and it is mostly what you would expect from a place that works with metal all day long. It is not some clean, fancy office building with people in suits. We are a factory. There is a lot of dust and the sound of machines running is just something you get used to after the first hour. Most of the folks working here have lived in this area their whole lives. We make axles. It is heavy work and it gets hot, especially when the summer hits this part of Punjab. We don't really spend time writing big slogans or talking about how great we are. The parts we make go onto vehicles and if they work right, nobody thinks about us. That is fine by us. We just show up in the morning, do the shift, and head home. Sometimes the logistics get a bit messy with the trucks coming in and out on the main road, but we manage. It is a local operation at heart even if the name sounds big. We have been in Mehtiana for a long time now. If you drive past, you will see the gates and the workers heading for tea. It is just a regular place doing regular work.
