Cottage Inds. Corpn.

The building on Railway Road is old, and you can feel the floor shake a little bit every time a train passes by the station nearby. Cottage Inds. Corpn. has been based here for quite some time, and the walls are covered in layers of paint that have seen better days. Inside, the space is packed with different goods, mostly stuff that feels a bit more traditional than what you see in the malls. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights to show things off. It’s more about just having the stock on the shelves and knowing where everything is hidden. The air is often a bit heavy with the smell of old wood and maybe some fabric. During the monsoon, the roof leaks a tiny bit in the far corner, so we have to move all the crates to the center of the room. The staff here has been around forever, and we mostly just talk about the daily news while we sort through the incoming shipments. It’s a quiet kind of work, interrupted only by the horns from the street or the railway announcements. We don’t do much advertising; people usually find us because they’ve been coming to Railway Road for years. It’s a bit disorganized at times, with papers piled up on the old wooden desks, but we eventually find whatever we are looking for. It’s just how we operate.
