Sun Academy School

Sun Academy School is tucked away in the Housing Board Colony of Hoshangabad. If you live in the colony, you’ve definitely seen our gate. It’s a very residential feel here, which means the school feels like a part of the neighborhood. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Instead, we have a small front desk where a couple of us handle everything from admissions to fixing a broken light bulb. The classrooms are spread out, and we try to keep them organized, though with dozens of kids running around, things get a bit messy by the end of the day. The teachers live nearby, so they often see the parents at the local market or on the way home. That makes things a bit more personal. We don’t use a lot of complicated jargon when we talk to parents. If a kid is struggling with their math or not paying attention in class, we just tell the parents plainly. The playground is just a patch of ground where the kids play cricket or tag during their breaks. When it gets really hot in Hoshangabad, we have to be careful about making sure everyone drinks enough water from the tanks. It’s not a fancy life, and the school isn’t trying to be something it’s not. We’re just here in the colony, keeping the doors open and the lessons going every single day for the families who live around us.
