Pandey Hospital

Pandey Hospital has been sitting here in the Sanichara area of Hoshangabad for quite some years. If you know the Sanichara neighborhood, you know it’s a place where everyone kind of looks out for each other. We are not a massive institution with hundreds of doctors, just a local spot where people come when they aren’t feeling well. The building itself is older, and we have to fix things here and there quite often. It’s just how it goes with these older places in town. We spend a lot of our time talking to the families that come in. Most of them have been living in Hoshangabad their whole lives, just like us. On some afternoons, it gets really quiet, and we just sit and wait for the evening rush. Other days, it feels like half the town is in the waiting room. We don’t have those electronic appointment systems that never work; we just use a ledger and call people in order. It’s simpler that way. We keep the fans running all day to beat the heat. It’s just a normal, everyday hospital for normal people. We don't try to be anything else. We mostly deal with fevers, minor injuries, and the usual stuff that happens in a busy neighborhood. It’s a lot of hard work, but we are used to the rhythm of Sanichara by now and we don't plan on changing how we do things.
