Padhar Hospital

Padhar is a quiet place and our hospital has been a part of it for a long time. We aren't in a big city with bright lights, so things move at a different pace here. Most of the people who come to us are from the surrounding villages and they travel a fair distance to get here. The hospital grounds are quite large and there’s always someone sitting under the trees waiting for their turn. We do a bit of everything here because we have to. It's not like the city where there's a specialist on every corner. Our staff lives on the campus mostly, so it feels more like a small community than just a workplace. We spend our days checking on patients and making sure the supplies are stocked up, which can be a challenge sometimes. The buildings are older but they've held up well over the years. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that to tell people about us. Word of mouth is how most people find their way to Padhar. It’s a lot of hard work and the days can be long, but that is just how it is. We focus on the basic needs of the folks who walk through our gates. It is a simple, honest way of working in a place that really needs the help. The nights are usually quiet unless there is an emergency that someone brings in by motorbike or truck. Sometimes the power goes out, but we have a backup to keep things going.
