Shiva Hardware Shop

Shiva Hardware Shop is out in Kadugodi, on the Chaitanya Ananya Road. This area has changed so much since we first opened up. It used to be a lot quieter, but now there are cars and scooters zooming past all the time. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a simple storefront with rolls of wire and plastic pipes sitting out front. Inside, we have rows of shelves filled with everything a person might need for their house, from plumbing supplies to basic tools. It can get a bit messy, especially when we are restocking, and there is always a bit of grease on the counter from handling the metal parts. We don't have a big computer system or anything; we just write things down in a ledger and keep track of it that way. My nephew helps out most afternoons after he finishes his schoolwork. We get a lot of local workers coming in early in the morning before they start their jobs, so we try to get the tea going early. It is a lot of standing around and lifting heavy boxes, but we are used to it by now. The road outside can get pretty muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time mopping the floor to keep the dust down. It’s just a regular life running a shop in Kadugodi, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
