Wartsila

We are situated in Rishra, Hooghly, at 11A K.C. Sen Road. This is an old industrial part of West Bengal. The post office is Morepukur, and it’s a bit of a walk from the station. The building has that classic look you see in older towns along the river. It’s not a shiny new office block. We deal with engines and power stuff, so the atmosphere is very practical and down-to-earth. There are old trees around the compound and the air smells like the river sometimes. Inside, the floors are stone and the desks are heavy wood. We’ve been here for years. The staff is mostly local people who have been with us for a long time. We don’t use much jargon or have fancy meetings. We just get the reports done and talk to the engineers. It’s often humid, so we keep the windows open when it’s not raining. The monsoons here are quite something, the rain hammers down on the roof. We have a small area for files and a corner for the tea maker. It’s a steady kind of place. We don’t have a big corporate logo on every wall. It feels more like a workshop that has some office space attached to it. People around here know the Wartsila name because we’ve been part of the landscape for so long. We spend a lot of time checking manuals and coordinating with the site teams who are out in the field. It is a bit slow-paced compared to the city, but we like it that way.
