Vision Clinic

Dankuni is a busy place, and we are right in the middle of it here in Kolkata. The clinic isn't very big, but we make use of every inch of space we have. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always going full speed. We’ve got the usual setup—a chair for the eye exams and a few rows of frames on the walls. Most of the people who come in are local workers or families from the surrounding streets. They often come in with glasses that are scratched up from work or just need a basic checkup because their vision is getting blurry. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. It’s just a practical place to get your eyes checked. We spend a lot of time talking to people about their daily lives while we work. It’s a bit messy sometimes with lens wipes and tools lying around, but we know where everything is. The traffic outside can be a headache, but once someone steps inside, it’s just about focusing on their eyes. We don’t try to sell people things they don’t need. If their old frames are still good, we just swap the lenses. It’s a honest way to run a business. Dankuni has its own rhythm, and we’ve just become a small part of it over the years. We open the doors every morning and see who the day brings in, whether it's for a new pair or a quick repair.
