Vishwanath Drishti Eye Hospital

Our place, Vishwanath Drishti Eye Hospital, is right by the 26 Number Bus Stand in Champadanga. It’s actually pretty easy to find because we are right opposite the telephone exchange. That’s usually how we tell people to find us when they call and ask for directions. Champadanga is a busy junction, so there is always a bus pulling in or out, and plenty of people walking around the market area. The hospital isn't a massive complex; it’s more of a functional space where we look after people's eyesight. We have the usual equipment for testing eyes and checking prescriptions. The waiting room gets quite warm in the summer, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving. We see a lot of people coming in from the bus stand who might have something in their eye or just need a new pair of glasses because they broke theirs. It’s a very local atmosphere here. We know the tea seller nearby and the folks at the telephone exchange. Sometimes we get caught up in the noise of the buses, but that’s just part of being in this location. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the wall or anything like that. We just try to get the job done so people can see a bit better when they leave. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning till evening. We’ve been here long enough that the bus drivers all know us by sight.
