Universal Traders

Our shop is at 19A BJ Road in Bhadra Kali. We are basically general traders, so we deal with a bit of everything depending on what's in demand. The place is more like a warehouse that happens to have a front door for customers. We have stacks of boxes piled up everywhere, sometimes almost to the ceiling. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we have a system that works for us. If you need something, we can usually find it in a few minutes. BJ Road is a busy enough spot, and we get a lot of local folks stopping by to see what’s new in stock. We’ve been running this for years as a small operation. It’s mostly family and a couple of helpers. There’s no dress code or formal meetings here. We just open up in the morning, move some crates around, and talk to whoever comes in. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons since the building is old and doesn't hold the cool air very well. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively. It’s a very down-to-earth kind of business. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here and what we do. It’s a simple life, buying and selling goods and making sure our customers are treated like neighbors. We just keep the shelves filled and the door open.
