We set up the Supriya Foundation And Research And Welfare Organisation right here on Shantinagar Road in Bhadrakali. It is a quiet spot in Uttarpara, Hooghly. Most of us here grew up in this area or nearby, so we know the people around 15/1 pretty well. We spend most of our mornings getting things ready for the day’s work. There is always a lot of paperwork and planning involved in what we do. People stop by sometimes to ask about what we are working on. We try to explain it simply without using big words. Research sounds like a fancy thing, but for us, it is just about looking into local problems and seeing how we can help out. The office isn't very big, but it is enough for the few of us who are here every day. We have some old desks and a couple of computers that sometimes run slow. Living and working in Hooghly means dealing with the heat and the humidity, especially in the summer. We drink a lot of tea while we talk about our next steps. It isn't a flashy place at all. We just want to get through our list of tasks and make sure the welfare side of things is actually reaching someone. It is hard work, and sometimes we feel tired, but it is what we decided to do with our time here.
