Way out here in Hooghly, Sterling Construction Systems Ltd feels like a real local operation. We are based in Fului, specifically in the east part near Badangang. Being in a village environment means things move a bit differently than they do in the big cities. We deal with a lot of local projects and the logistics can be a real headache when the roads get muddy during the rainy season. Our office is just a simple space where we manage the supplies and the workers. We’ve been here in West Bengal for a while, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the place. Flashy signs or big corporate offices aren't found here. It’s just us, some ledger books, and a lot of patience. People in the village know us by name, and they stop by if they have questions about a project. A lot of time is spent on the phone trying to coordinate deliveries from the city. It’s not always easy getting materials out to this part of Hooghly, but we’ve found our ways over the years. We take things as they come. Construction is messy and unpredictable, especially when you’re working with the local terrain here. We just try to keep the systems running and make sure the builds are solid.
