STEP TO LEARN

We are tucked away at 2Dpmd Sarani in the Shoker Bazar area of Bhadrakali. It’s a busy little part of Hooghly, and our address is right in the middle of all that local life. STEP TO LEARN isn’t a huge place, but we have enough room for the students who come here for their lessons. The building is an older one, typical for this part of Bhadrakali. You walk in and you’re immediately in the thick of things. We have desks and chairs squeezed into the rooms, and there is usually the sound of someone reading aloud or a teacher explaining something. Shoker Bazar is always moving, so there is noise from the street vendors and the people passing by outside. We’ve been here at this Hooghly address for a good stretch of time now. The 712232 area is home to many of the families who send their kids to us. It feels very much like a neighborhood spot. There isn't any fancy lobby or receptionist, just us working in the rooms. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit difficult to get to the door because of the puddles on 2Dpmd Sarani, but everyone still shows up. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just try to provide a space where people can focus on their books and get their work done. It is humble but it gets the job done for everyone in the community who stops by.
