Our foundry is located in Dakshinpara, over in the Morepukur area of Hooghly. It is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the main city, but we have been here in Rishra for quite some time now. Working in a foundry is not the cleanest job in the world, but it is what we know how to do. The heat from the furnaces can be quite something during the summer months, though we have all gotten used to it by now. We spend most of our mornings getting everything ready and making sure the day's schedule is set. It is a local operation, and many of the guys living nearby walk or bike over to work every day. Our address on the map says Pin 712250, and that is exactly where we stay put. We don't have any fancy receptionists or big glass buildings, just the workspace and our tools. Things can get noisy with the machinery running, but that is just the sound of work being done. Sometimes we sit outside during breaks just to get some air. Hooghly is a good place to be based and the community around Morepukur is pretty tight-knit. We just focus on our own tasks and try to produce stuff that won't fall apart. It is honest work and we have been doing it this way for as long as I can remember. We are just regular people doing a heavy job.
